Head to the Mall at Wellington Green this Saturday afternoon for the fifth annual Pink Party, an event to support breast cancer survivors and thrivers, and raise money for the American Cancer Society.

Admission is $10 for the party, which is from 2 to 4 p.m. in the mall’s Community Court. There will be an event honoring survivors and those currently in treatment at 2:30, and Zumba at 3. There will be early detection and early education information from ACS, plus bra decorating, pumpkin decorating and more entertainment. Yes, I said bra decorating.
The first 100 Zumba participants get a free pink swag bag, and there will be tons of photos ops, including with the American Cancer Society’s Big Pink Chair.
October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and the Pink Party serves as a great way to kick off the American Cancer Society’s monthlong awareness campaign. That includes Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Palm Beach County, which is at 7:30 a.m. Oct. 15 at Sunset Cove Amphitheater, 20405 Amphitheater Circle, Boca Raton.
Yes, it’s a bit of a drive from the Wellington area to western Boca Raton. But the area is kid- and dog-friendly, in addition to being an event that supports a wonderful cause. Sunset Cove sits within South County Regional Park, and the venue is right next to a beautiful playground and a dog park. Plus, it’s a straight shot down State Road 7.
