Wellington’s popular food trucks and live music series is returning to Town Center.
While the events won’t be held at the Wellington Amphitheater until construction on that area of Town Center is completed, the series temporarily will be hosted from 5 to 9 p.m. each Thursday along the Town Center Promenade along the Lake Wellington waterfront behind the Wellington Community Center (12150 Forest Hill Blvd.) beginning Jan. 5, the village announced.
The first installment will feature music from The Trio, performing rock music from the ’60s and ’70s, starting at 6:30 p.m. A list of food trucks will be posted on Wellington’s website.
Before construction started on the area around the Wellington Amphitheater, the events drew hundreds of people to eat at the dozen or so food trucks and listen to live music from tribute and local live music acts.
Once the project is completed, not only will there be a larger lawn next to the amphitheater for folks to lay out blankets and gather, but there also will be a dedicated loop for food trucks to park and plug in. You can read more about the plans here. Work is expected to be completed in late April.
Concerts on Saturdays and Sundays will continue at Village Park, 11700 Pierson Road. Check Wellington’s website for a schedule.
