A new shopping plaza in Palm Beach County’s youngest municipality has drawn some big names.

Developer Konover South held a groundbreaking last month for the Shoppes of Westlake Landings, which has booked tenants including Starbucks, Habit Burger Grill and Taco Bell.

The plaza, on the southwest corner of Persimmon Boulevard and Seminole Pratt Whitney Road, sits on about 7 acres that Konover South bought from Minto Communities — the lead developer behind the city of Westlake — in 2021 for about $4 million, county records show.

According to a site plan on Konover’s website, the Shoppes of Westlake Landings will be home to (from north to south):

  • OrangeTheory Fitness
  • Go Green Dry Cleaner
  • Verizon
  • Sauced BBQ & Whiskey Shack
  • Heartland Dental
  • 3Natives
  • The Habit Burger Grill
  • Starbucks
  • KFC
  • Taco Bell

Konover South said in a news release that it expects the project to be fully leased when it opens this fall.

“I want to thank Minto Communities for giving us the opportunity to develop this project and trusting us to provide some needed services for the community of Westlake,” said Bob Bedard, Konover’s senior vice president of development.

Westlake was incorporated in 2016, becoming Palm Beach County’s 39th municipality. It is one of the fastest-growing cities in Florida, according to Census data. Westlake’s master plan includes 4,500 homes and 2.2 million square feet of commercial space.

In addition to the Shoppes of Westlake Landings, a new Publix shopping center is under development on the northwest corner of Persimmon and Seminole Pratt Whitney. That plaza and it’s 50,000-square-foot Publix store is expected to open the first quarter of this year, according to a Minto news release.

To the south, a new campus for Christ Fellowship Church is slated for a grand opening of March 5, according to the church’s website.
