The Wellington Amphitheater is ready to reopen, and the village is celebrating in a big way.
Wellington will mark the completion of its Town Center Phase 2 project with a four-day festival that includes live music, bounce houses, food trucks, vendors and more at the amphitheater and surrounding area, 12100 Forest Hill Blvd.
Shuttles will run each day between Town Center and the Mall at Wellington Green at the Palm Tran bus stop near Macy’s, beginning 30 minutes before the day’s events begin and ending 30 minutes after the end time. Remember: Do not park in the Town Square shopping plaza next door. If you do, it’s very likely you will get towed.
The party kicks off with a ribbon-cutting at 6:15 p.m. May 25, with the National Anthem and performance the National Guard, plus a ceremony featuring Wellington’s council on the amphitheater stage.
The amphitheater and surrounding area, including Scott’s Place Playground, have been closed for about a year as Wellington reconfigured the space. Work included creating a new parking lot to the east of the Wellington Community Center and adding more green space next to the amphitheater to accommodate larger crowds. There also now is a dedicated loop for food trucks.
There will be a selection of more than a dozen food trucks each night.
